A Coil Lifter is a type of material handling equipment used to lift and move heavy coils, such as steel, aluminum, or wire coils, in industrial settings. These lifters are commonly found in manufacturing plants, steel mills, and warehouses.
Our Coil Lifters have robust construction and are made from structural steel or alloy steels for durability and longevity. They have high load capacity designed to lift heavy coils of various materials such as steel or aluminium.
Drives and Drives make coil lifters are available in both manual and electrically powered variants for different operational needs. Our motorized coil lifters come with adjustable arms. These can accommodate different coil sizes.
Coil lifters can be equipped with overload protection and locking system to ensure secure handling. We can custom design coil lifters tailored to meet specific coil dimensions, weights, and handling requirements. Advanced features such as load display (coil lifter with load cell integration) can also be provided.
Coil Lifters require low maintenance with minimal moving parts reduce wear and tear, requiring less frequent servicing. 360° Rotation (in some models) enables flexible positioning and precise coil placement.
Drives and Drives Coil Lifters are built in accordance with IS 800 (Indian Standard) and can also be built to comply with EN 13155, OSHA or CE standards.
Depending on the coil orientation (horizontal or vertical), weight, and handling method, different types of coil lifters are used:
C-Hook Coil Lifter: Its design is shaped like a “C” so that the lower arm can slide into the inner diameter of the coil, for horizontal coil lifting. It has simple design, durable, and requires minimal maintenance.
Vertical Coil Lifter / Coil Grab (Eye-to-Sky): Consists of two arms that can be operated mechanically or hydraulically to grip the outer diameter of the coil. Grips coils that are positioned with the eye (hole) facing up. Can handle coils in a range of diameters and lengths.
Mechanized Coil Tongs: Uses mechanical arms that lift the coil by grabbing it from both ends. Can be used for lifting coils of different sizes.
Drives and Drives, lifting division designs and manufactures a wide range of lifting tackles, lifting beams, spreader beams and all types of coil lifters. Our application engineering team provides solutions specifically suited for your application. We use heavy duty materials that are light in weight yet strong so that the dead weight on the crane is minimal.
Our other standard product range consists of lifting slings and points manufactured by “CARTEC” Italy in grade 80 and 100 with ‘H’ mark confirming usage up to 20000 loading cycles. We also provide magnetic lifters, horizontal and vertical plate lifting clamps.
Coil Lifters are commonly employed in industries where large coils are produced, processed, or utilized.
